    SUMMARY: Responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.   • Front Desk Receptionist - Rate of Pay: $7.50/hr.

    SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to perform clerical duties related to veterinary care and treatment, closely interact with clients and (small animal) patients, process invoices and payments, handle the cash drawer, and provide miscellaneous support to the veterinarians, veterinary practice manager and other staff members. Operates under the direct supervision of the receptionist team leader and veterinary practice manager. Job description may change without prior notice if management deemed necessary.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
    • Answer incoming telephone calls utilizing proper telephone etiquette.
    • Operate a multiple-line telephone system. This includes answering incoming lines, placing callers on hold, transferring calls, and paging other staff members within the hospital. Take and route messages for veterinarians and other staff members.
    • Follow established hospital guidelines for communicating with clients in different types of situations such as general queries, scheduling appointments, and some routine questions, patient emergencies, prescription refills, etc.
    • Handle basic sub-professional questions regarding hospital services, fees, and animal care and treatments in accordance with hospital policies. Appropriately direct other questions and communication to a veterinarian, practice manager, or other health care team members.
    • Utilize effective listening skills to obtain all necessary medical and personal information from the client. Discern any potential client problems, complaints, or questions and handle appropriately.
    • Relay medical instructions, be able to go over the itemized client statement, and inform clients about hospital policies.
    • Communicate with clients as needed regarding the medical status of their pet, the total amount of their bill, ect. Make recalls to clients on a timely basis.
    • Provide clients with any information or instructions they will need prior to their appointment.
    • Contact clients to confirm surgery the day prior to scheduled date and re-reschedule surgeries.
    • Welcome clients and patients to the practice and provide for their comfort while they are in the practice. This includes greeting clients, offering water, showing them to the visiting area.
    • Monitor the length of time clients are waiting and appropriately handle situations where there is an extended wait.
    • When speaking with clients, use the client’s name and pet’s name to personalize communication.
    • Know how to schedule appointments and surgical procedures into the daily calendar.
    • Inquire as to which doctor the client wishes to see when signing in. If they do have a preference, make sure to attach the tab with the Doctors name on the clients chart.
    • Try and schedule follow-up visits with the Doctor who saw the patient for that specific problem, when possible.
    • Promote the hospital to person inquiring about the practice, its fees, products and/or services.
    • Educate clients regarding preventive medicine and vaccination requirements. Inform clients about procedures necessary to maintain their pets’ good health.
    • Promote the practice’s products and services to clients, making suggestions when appropriate.
    • Learn and follow the hospital’s policies and protocols as stated in the hospital protocol manual.
    • Learn basic patient preventative care protocols and effectively communicate these to clients.
    • Exercise technical knowledge of the practice’s products and services.
    • Improve upon veterinary knowledge and skills by utilizing in-house education materials and by participating in staff meetings and in-house training.
    • Retrieve and re-file medical records accurately and promptly.
    • Purge inactive files as directed.
    • Update client files and patient records as needed.
    • Scan clients’ records from other clinics if they bring records in with them.
    • Complete required charts. Obtain all necessary information.
    • Obtain medical and vaccination histories form the client if possible.
    • Follow hospital policies regarding patient admittance (i.e. vaccination status, etc).
    • Relay all necessary information the doctors and technicians.
    • Accept payments from the client. Accurately process cash, checks, charge card payments and credit account payments.
    • Perform and end-of-day procedure each evening. This includes balancing the cash drawer, running end-of-day computer reports, preparing deposit, and presenting reports and deposit envelopes to the front office manager.
    • Assist other health care team member in cleaning and straightening the public areas of the practice, including the front desk, reception area and when possible the exam rooms. Make sure not to leave the lobby area. If it is slow, ask your supervisor for things to do. Make sure to stay busy in your designated area at all times.
    • Restock front desk.
    • Open the practice and set up for the morning as directed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

Machine Operator

Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting. Clean walls to ensure proper adherence. Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Moves furniture and equipment as necessary. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting. Apply several coats according to paint directions. Tape off areas when needed. Apply touchups or second coats. Remove paint splatters when finished. Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns. Utilize spray guns for large jobs. Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Must have painting experience. Individuals must have good driving record and a valid drivers license.

Smooth out imperfections. Work with ceiling tile installers to build walls. Measure, cut, fit, and fasten panels. Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing. Screw panels to wood or metal framework. Use a lift to place ceiling panels. Fill joints in-between panels with spackle. Use trowels to spread spackle. Press paper tape into compound. Smooth away excess material. Cover nail and screw depressions with spackle. Apply second and third coats of compound. Sand areas after each coat.
    QUALIFICATIONS: Must have sheetrock installer experience. Individuals must have good driving record and a valid drivers license.

    Essential Job Duties: Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. Examine workpieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade. Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals. Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained. Other duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats. Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements or work orders. Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors or homeowners to determine work requirements. Erect scaffolding or swing gates, or set up ladders, to work above ground level. Remove fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to painting. Wash and treat surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations, and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly. Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil or thinning and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistencies. Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements: Must be willing to travel for long periods of time. At least 5 years related experience in carpentry required. English/Spanish preferred.

    SUMMARY: Work involves responsibility for performing skilled plastering work in accordance with standard trade practices. Assignments are usually received orally, but may be written and accompanied by sketches or blue prints.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Performs lath work necessary to patch holes in walls and ceilings. Mixes and matches plaster and stucco. Plasters newly constructed buildings, walls, and ceilings on metal and wood lath, tile, and brick, using two and three coat techniques.
    Patches old plaster, removes loose plaster, cuts out cracks, and applies new plaster.
    Completes plaster work with trowel or sand finishers. Performs related work as required. Other duties as assigned.

Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
