Marketing Director/Grants

Pay Rate: $40,000 – $60,000/yr., Depending on Experience
SCHEDULE: Full time

JOB SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, health living and social responsibility. This position stewards the Y’s cause and impact, promoting and builds the community’s understanding of the Y as an inclusive organization within the community.

Essential Functions:
1. Develops annual operating goals, objectives and plan for the marketing and communications area. Monitors the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met.
2. Develops, produces and distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with membership and marketing plans. This includes social media, website content, etc.
3. Establishes contact with media representatives and writes and submits press releases when appropriate. Maintains updated files of Y’s media relations (both press and electronic).
4. Develops effective working relationships with service groups, community organizations and companies. May assist with presentation about the YMCA
5. Provides and maintains related statistics and reports.
6. Assists in researching potential funders, (i.e. foundations, corporations) and builds strong, strategic relationships with current and prospective partners inside and outside the Y.
7. Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y’s impact for all stakeholders (staff, volunteers, members, community leaders) and develops grant proposals to help find the Y’s programs.
8. Establishes and manages a comprehensive process for timely and accurate grant evaluation, quality compliance project and program fulfillment.
9. Reports the sources, uses, and management of donated funds to constituents in order to preserve and enhance confidence in the organization.
10. Manages and implements an organized system of communications internally and externally to provide stewardship to donors regarding grant awards and the management of monitoring of the funders’ requirements for recognition.
11. May assist in the planning and coordination of special events.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

1. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Previous professional experience in membership, marketing and/or sales preferred.
3. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
4. Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries.
5. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of on-line/classroom training for Appropriate Touch, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention, CPR/AED, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Slips/Trips & Falls, and other program specific training as requested by supervisor. Includes completion of YMCA program-specific certification/trainings, i.e. Listen First, etc.
