Service Technician (Mechanic)

ROP: $Depend on Experience/hr.
Work Schedule: FULL-TIME, M – Friday

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs maintenance, repair and rebuilding jobs at company shops or a customer’s job site/location in a safe, efficient and capable manner, using the least number of labor hours necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Performs service tasks as they may be assigned by the service manager or the shop superintendent.

2. Keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor.

3. Reports each service call or repair job at the end of each shift, giving the following information: (a) customer’s name, (b) make and model of unit, (c) serial number, (d) hours worked, (e) travel time, (f) details of worked performed, problems encountered, time required, (g) parts, equipment and supplies used.

4. Reports in complete detail as above with regard to warranty situations handled.

5. Coordinates local parts deliveries to coincide with scheduled service calls.

6. Keeps immediate shop area in which he works in a clean and orderly manner.

7. Brings to the attention of the shop manager/superintendent any additional work required on a unit.

8. Notifies shop superintendent/foreman if shop equipment or vehicle is not in serviceable condition or constitutes a safety hazard.

9. Returns tools to crib at the end of each shift in a clean condition ready for the next man to use.

10. Keeps service bulletins and parts literature current and orderly at all times.

11. Conducts himself in the presence of customers in a manner which will retain a good opinion of the company and the service department.

12. Takes advantage of all opportunities to attend schools and training sessions in order to upgrade technical competence.

13. Performs other duties as prescribed by the shop superintendent from time to time.

14. Promotes the Company by recommending service contracts and additional services; by distributing fliers announcing current promotions.

15. Reports sales leads and important information to management and/or Territory Salesmen (measured by amount if new business and service contracts, and made a part of his overall annual evaluation).

16. Delivers quality work and meets deadlines and goals.

17. Attendance is consistent with company requirements and expectations. (Attendance includes consistent respect for being “on time”).

18. Interaction with co-workers is positive and does everything to insure that he is part of a productive work team.

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have Basic Computer Skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Good driving record
• Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
