SUMMARY: It all starts here! The Energy Sales Consultants are the primary point of contact to help
educate potential customers and get them excited about the many benefits of solar energy.
You will be responsible for interviewing and identifying potential customers by visiting them
door-to-door at their homes and at events. You will answer their initial questions regarding
our service and arrange and conduct solar consultations. You will receive extensive training on
Solar Smart Living’s sales processes and technologies and will be expected to follow those
processes which will help you be more successful.

After you ramp up and achieve your sales targets for several successive months, you may be
eligible for promotion to a Field Manager role and lead your own successful sales team.

• Engage customers regarding Solar Smart Living’s sustainable and clean energy solutions
• Drive the creation of leads to meet your personal and team sales goals and objectives
• Collaborate with other Energy Consultants to do joint in-home appointments
• Set up SSL event displays and collateral
• Work side-by-side with top sales producers and learn from them directly
• Other duties as assigned.

• 2-3 years prior experience in a quota-driven sales position is strongly
• Retail sales experience – working in a door-to-door environment highly
• Prior experience generating customer leads and referral-based sales
strongly preferred
• Proficient (or easily teachable) with Gmail/Google Calendar and Docs, MS
• Excel, Zoom and Google Meeting Experience (+CRM tool experience
preferred). Have your own phone, tablet or laptop computer (tablet or
laptop strongly preferred) or ability to invest in one
• High energy, even higher integrity and ethics
• Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills – bilingual
preferred (Spanish and English)

• Must be flexible working weekends, evenings and holiday shifts
• Must be comfortable standing and walking for long periods of time in a door
to door sales environment
• Good phone skills for making follow up calls to customers
• Min 18 years of age with a high school degree, recent college grads are a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Comfortable working a commission-only sales position
