Industrial Technician

Rate of Pay: $14/hr., Depending on Experience.
Location: East El Paso, TX
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00pm

SUMMARY: The Industrial Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment within our food manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting repairs to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure all components are in optimal working condition.

Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and identify mechanical issues, including but not limited to motors, conveyors, and processing equipment.
• Implement effective troubleshooting strategies to address breakdowns promptly.

Repairs:
• Execute mechanical repairs on a variety of equipment, including replacing faulty components and conducting adjustments.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to address complex mechanical issues.

Calibration:
• Calibrate machinery to meet production specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure precision and accuracy in the functioning of equipment.

Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Provide timely and detailed reports on completed tasks and ongoing projects.

Safety:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during maintenance and repair activities.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards or concerns.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with production teams to understand equipment requirements and address mechanical concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with vendors and external contractors as needed for specialized repairs or installations.

Continuous Improvement:
• Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to food manufacturing machinery.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

o High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
o Proven experience as a mechanic in a food manufacturing or similar industry.
o Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment.
o Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
o Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
o Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing repairs and maintenance tasks.
o Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
• Comfortable working in various temperatures and conditions within the manufacturing plant.
• Flexibility to work during non-standard hours or weekends as needed.
